Worship

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power

and wealth and wisdom and strength

and honor and glory and praise!”

(Revelation 5:12)

Gathering together to worship God is a big part of our life together as a church.  As those who have experienced Christ’s saving love, we have good reason to praise Him.  We believe worship should be something we look forward to; not something we dread. That’s why we try and make our worship services a time of celebration.  We want each person present to experience the love and power of Jesus, as well as the encouragement of a loving and supportive Christian family. Toward this end, we emphasize the following:

Jesus at the center:  Jesus Christ is the reason we meet and the reason we worship.  He is our Savior; He is our Lord; and He is the “glue” that binds us all together in love as a church family.  He’s the object of our worship and the subject of our teaching; He’s the author and perfecter of our faith.  We keep Jesus at the center in all that we do as a church; including our worship services.

A relaxed atmosphere:  God in interested in our hearts, not our clothes.  That’s why we encourage everyone to “come as you are”  to worship services.  Blue jeans?  Shorts?  No problem!  Grab a cup of coffee from our café area and make yourself right at home.  God wants us to worship Him in spirit and truth; not in outward appearances (John 4:24).

A loving fellowship:  We value building meaningful, encouraging and loving relationships with one another as believers.  In our worship services, everyone is welcome regardless of who they are, where they come from, or what they may or may not have done.  Our desire is simply to point each other to Jesus and offer Christian love and support to one another in that journey.

Uplifting music and singing:    Christ honoring music and singing make up a big part of our worship services for the simple reason that, as believers in Jesus, we have something to sing about!   Our music tends to be contemporary (guitars as opposed to an organ).  But, we also value and utilize the historic expressions of worship found in the great Christian hymns and creeds of yester-year.

Relevant Bible teaching:  The Bible is God’s Word; His “love letter” to mankind that provides answers for every situation in life.  That’s why our worship services always include a time of teaching from the Word of God.  Rather than imparting mere religious “head knowledge”, all our teaching and preaching is aimed at bringing about life transformation.  We want real people to encounter real truths in such a way that they are really changed!

Believing Prayer:  We believe in the power of prayer!  As a church, we seek to be a praying people.  During our worship services, corporate prayers of adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication all make up an important part of our times together.  We also make time to pray for one another as we receive requests and then join together in seeking God for those.

The Lord’s Supper:  We regularly celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a part of our worship services, in accordance with Jesus’ command to remember Him by it.  We practice “open communion”, and all who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are invited to partake of it with us.  In accordance with Scriptures, we take the bread and cup as a memorial of Jesus’ sacrifice; a celebration of His love; and a proclamation of His salvation.

We invite you to come worship with us in person.

We’d love to welcome you to the family!
